Stephen Mulhern takes his magic to sea this month, and the market has already delivered its verdict.
The Deal or No Deal and Britain’s Got More Talent host performs a new show — Stephen Mulhern’s Live & Unbelievable! — in an exclusive Limelight Club residency aboard Iona, across three seven-night Southampton round-trips starting 25 July.
That first sailing, to the Norwegian fjords, is now sold out.
What’s left, and what it costs now
Two sailings remain. The second fjords voyage departs 1 August, with inside cabins from £949 per person. The Spain & France sailing follows on 8 August, from £849.
Worth knowing: both have moved since the residency was announced in April. The 1 August fjords sailing was then advertised from £879 — it has climbed £70. Spain & France has edged up from £829.
Celebrity residencies are usually sold with urgent adjectives. This one does not need them; the fares are doing the talking.
What you actually get
Mulhern performs on four nights of each cruise in the Limelight Club, Iona’s cabaret venue — up-close magic, comedy and audience participation, in his first show built for the ship.
One honest note: the Limelight Club is a bookable venue with a cover charge that includes dining, so seeing the show is an extra on top of the fare, and seats will be in demand across four performances a week. Book the venue as early as you can.
Beyond the stage shows, Mulhern hosts a family workshop on one sea day of each cruise, teaching tricks and techniques with his Unbelievable magic kits — designed for all ages, and a rare chance to learn directly from one of television’s most familiar performers.
“The Limelight Club is an incredible setting to really connect with audiences,” Mulhern said.
The bottom line
School-holiday fjords sailings on Iona rarely need help selling, and this one now has a television name attached — which is precisely why the remaining fares are rising rather than falling.
At £949 for the fjords in peak August it is not cheap, but it is a no-fly week with kids’ clubs included and one of TV’s best-known entertainers on stage four nights out of seven. For families weighing P&O’s current offers, it is a reminder that the headline deals and the sailings people actually want are rarely the same thing.
