Celebrity Cruises has unveiled its 2028 and 2029 deployment, and the headline for British cruisers is a big one: Celebrity Beyond will sail from Southampton.

It’s the line’s most extensive Northern Europe programme to date, with four Edge-class ships in Europe for the first time.

Laura Hodges Bethge, Celebrity’s president, said the itineraries pair “immersive destinations with the elevated hospitality” the line builds its pitch on.

What’s sailing from Southampton

Beyond takes seven- to 14-night sailings from Southampton to Norway, Iceland and Scandinavia.

She’s also an upgrade in plain size. Beyond is the stretched version of the Edge-class design, bigger than Apex, the ship Southampton has now, by some 10,000 tons and 350 guests.

The 14-night headliner does Iceland properly, taking in Reykjavik, Isafjordur, Akureyri and Seydisfjordur, before turning for the Norwegian fjords: Geiranger, Alesund, Flam, Nordfjordeid and Bergen.

And this is Beyond after her renewal. She returns to Europe for the first time since 2023 carrying the new Mediterranean restaurant Bora and the reworked Pool Club, both debuting on board this November.

A first for Galway

Celebrity Apex picks up new 12-night British Isles sailings around Scotland, Ireland and England, including the line’s first-ever call at Galway.

Apex also runs 12-night Scandinavia itineraries taking in Oslo, Skagen, Stockholm, Tallinn, Helsinki and Copenhagen. The release doesn’t name her homeport for either programme, so watch the booking pages.

Elsewhere: Summit does Iceland round-trips from Reykjavik, and Infinity brings back Egypt with overnights in Alexandria, the line’s first since 2023.

The bottom line

No fares yet. This is a Miami announcement, and Europe, Bermuda, Canada and New England don’t go on sale until 25 August, with Alaska, Hawaii and South America following on 1 September.

So the honest position today is: strong itineraries, a genuinely upgraded ship on the Southampton run, and no way of judging value until sterling prices appear on the booking pages.

We’ll look at those fares when they land. Until then, pick your cabin type in theory and keep your powder dry.
