Dame Jayne Torvill and Sir Christopher Dean are joining a Saga cruise to the Canary Islands this December.
The Olympic ice dance champions will give talks and take questions on Spirit of Adventure’s 15-night Canary Island Wonders sailing, which leaves Portsmouth on 7 December.
Saga says they will cover their competition years and their time as coaches and judges on ITV’s Dancing on Ice.
Who else is on board
Veteran broadcaster Ken Bruce is also on the guest list. He hosts PopMaster on radio and on television, and Saga says he will run a quiz on board in the same style.

Astrophysicist Ian Hall is giving two talks and two performances of his show Wonders of Our Universe. Part of the voyage is an overnight in Funchal, Madeira.
Former Royal Marine and ocean rower Mick Dawson, and broadcaster Graham Pass, are giving talks too.
The cruise
After three sea days, the ship spends a night in Funchal. La Palma, Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote follow on consecutive days, then Lisbon.
She is back in Portsmouth at 07:00 on 22 December, three days before Christmas.
Saga’s own page lists the cruise from £3,699 per person, about £247 a night. That includes travel insurance, and the price comes down by £87pp if you don’t need it.
The fare covers drinks, tips, Wi-Fi, all the restaurants and an included excursion in every port. A chauffeur takes you from home to the ship and back.
Every cabin on Spirit of Adventure has a balcony, and the ship carries fewer than 1,000 passengers.
Two Saga ships, one day apart
Spirit of Adventure sails the day after her sister. Spirit of Discovery leaves Portsmouth for the Canaries on 6 December, with Vincent Simone and Michelle Tsiakkas premiering their new show on board.
Further ahead, Katherine Jenkins is performing twice on Spirit of Adventure’s 73-night Grand Voyage to South America, which leaves on 7 January 2027.
The bottom line
Saga’s winter line-up leans on names its passengers grew up with.
If you were already weighing up a December Canaries cruise from Portsmouth, the choice between the two ships may come down to whether you’d rather watch the dancing or hear the skating stories.
