Michel Roux Jr will sail with Cunard again in 2027 and 2028, hosting five Le Gavroche at Sea residencies on Queen Anne. Every one of them leaves from Southampton and every one goes to Norway.
With Le Gavroche closed on land since January 2024, Cunard says the ship is now the only place where guests can experience the spirit of the restaurant.
The five voyages
All five are seven nights, Southampton to Southampton. Lead fares are Cunard’s own, per person for a Britannia inside stateroom, as published today.
| Departs | Voyage | Where | From |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 May 2027 | H712 | Stavanger, Bergen, Ålesund, Haugesund | £949 |
| 29 Aug 2027 | H724 | Haugesund, Olden, Skjolden, Stavanger, plus Innvikfjorden, Nordfjord, Lustrafjorden and Sognefjord | £929 |

| 4 Jun 2028 | H814 | Olden, Skjolden, Stavanger, plus Hardangerfjord and the Sognefjord | £899 |
Balconies on the May 2027 sailing start at £1,429, and Cunard is running extra on board credit on 2027 and 2028 bookings made on the Cunard Fare until 9 November.

What you get
The main event is Le Gavroche at Sir Samuels: a tasting menu built on the restaurant’s heritage dishes, limited to 50 guests a night.
Roux also does a live cooking demonstration in the Royal Court Theatre, a Cunard Insights talk and Q&A, and a book signing. Residency sailings add a three-course gala menu in the main restaurants and an enhanced seafood offering in the Carinthia Lounge, so there is some Roux on the plate even if you never get near Sir Samuels.
New for these seasons is the chance to meet Ursula and Silvia Perberschlager, the twins known at Le Gavroche as The Sisters, who ran the Mayfair dining room for more than 20 years.
The catch
Queen Anne carries around 3,000 passengers. Sir Samuels seats 50 a night for the residency dinner.
The dinner carries a cover charge on top of your fare, which Cunard has not published, and it goes on sale through My Cunard six months before departure. If the dinner is the reason you are booking, put the date in your diary now. Cunard says the 2025 season sold out and the response since the 2024 launch has been “extraordinary”.
Her last summer as a Queen
The 2028 dates carry an extra weight. Queen Anne leaves Cunard for P&O in May 2029, renamed and rebuilt, after a final world cruise departing in January 2029.
That makes June 2028 the last Le Gavroche at Sea residency on the ship the residency was built around. Sir Samuels is a Queen Anne venue and the programme has lived aboard her since 2026. Cunard has not said where it goes once she is gone.
The May 2028 sailing also leaves Southampton five days after all four Queens meet on the Mersey, the only time the full fleet will ever be in one place.
Paul Ludlow, president of Cunard, said: “The response to Le Gavroche at Sea has been extraordinary since its launch and we’re delighted to continue our partnership with Michel in 2027 and 2028.”
Roux said: “Queen Anne is the only place in the world where guests can experience the spirit of Le Gavroche, and I look forward to welcoming guests on board for another memorable season.”
The bottom line
Five sailings, one ship, one country. Pick on itinerary rather than price, because the fares barely move: the 2028 pair are £50 cheaper and the August 2027 fjords run is the one with the most scenic cruising.
The dinner is the thing. Fifty seats, a cover charge Cunard isn’t quoting, and a six-month booking window you need to hit on the day. Your call whether a week in the fjords is worth it without a guaranteed table.
And if you want to eat Roux’s food on a Cunard Queen, 2028 may be the last time the Queen in question is this one.
